The desk
Singapore's home of crypto news, rebuilt for readers who want the useful version
The original cryptonews.sg, captured on the Wayback Machine between 2021 and 2023, was a busy WordPress news blog: SGX partnerships, Bitcoin-versus-gold arguments, wallet launches, Swiss–Singapore corridors, and a house style that opened almost every item with “Singapore –”.
We kept the beat and the city. We did not keep the 400-word wire copy. This rebuild is a long-form editorial site for people who live under Monetary Authority of Singapore rules, pay in dollars they earned here, and are tired of global crypto media that treats Singapore as a flag of convenience.
What we cover
The archive is organised into six topic hubs: regulation, markets, explainers, security, industry and payments. That is a deliberate upgrade from the old site’s “News” and “Uncategorized” buckets. The questions have not changed much: how exchanges earn money, whether Bitcoin is “like gold”, what a wallet actually is, and how this city regulates the lot.
How we work
The desk is independent of token issuers and unlicensed promoters. We do not publish buy or sell recommendations. We do not take payment to alter a regulatory fact. Guest essays are commissioned against the write-for-us guidelines and any paid link is marked rel="sponsored". Corrections live on the editorial standards page.
Primary sources for policy are the statutes and the notices: the Payment Services Act 2019, the Securities and Futures Act 2001, the Financial Services and Markets Act 2022, and the material MAS publishes at mas.gov.sg. When we summarise a consultation, we say it is a consultation.
Who this is for
Retail readers who want to understand a product before they open an account. Compliance staff who need a plain-English map of a notice. Founders who keep being told Singapore is “crypto friendly” and would like the actual licence list. Family offices that want vocabulary, not a pitch deck. We assume you already know how PayNow works and would like digital assets explained in that register — not in Silicon Valley slang.
Contact
Tips, corrections and pitches go through the contact form or support@worldwidebacklinks.com. We read everything. We do not return every email.
